Checklist

In Standard mode, row/column sums are the only required checks. ON-count and streak are guidance metrics.

Rules

Each row and column has three constraints: target sum, exactly 3 ON cells, and no three identical states in a row. Clear all constraints to reach 100% integrity.

Tips

  • Fix lines with large sum gaps first to narrow options quickly.
  • One click flips 5 cells, so plan around intersections.
  • Expert mode adds both diagonal sum constraints.

What is Grid Protocol?

Cross-Toggle Mechanism

Clicking a cell simultaneously toggles that cell and its four orthogonal neighbors. Each move can affect up to 5 cells, making move order a critical part of your strategy.

Multi-Constraint Rows and Columns

Every row and column must satisfy three conditions at once: a target sum, exactly 3 ON cells, and no three consecutive identical states. Expert mode adds a diagonal sum requirement on top.

Scoring System

Your score is calculated from clear time, number of switch moves, and hint usage. Fewer moves and a faster clear earn a higher score — challenge yourself to beat your personal best.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Grid Protocol?

Grid Protocol is a logic puzzle played on a 6×6 number grid. You use cross-toggle switches to satisfy sum, ON-count, and consecutive-state constraints on every row and column simultaneously.

What is the difference between Standard and Expert mode?

Standard mode only requires row and column sums to match. Expert mode adds stricter requirements: exactly 3 ON cells per line, no triple consecutive states, and matching diagonal sums.

How do I use the hint feature?

Press the Hint Scan button to highlight a cell that is recommended to toggle based on the current board state. Using hints applies a score penalty.

How do I maximize my score?

Clear the puzzle without hints and with as few switch moves as possible. Start by correcting rows and columns with the largest sum discrepancies, working from shared intersection cells outward.

Grid Protocol — Cross-Toggle Logic Puzzle

Grid Protocol is a hybrid logic puzzle on a 6×6 number grid where cross-toggle switches must satisfy row and column sum, ON-count, and pattern constraints simultaneously. Because one click flips up to five cells, simple row-by-row strategies fail — you need to anticipate chain effects across intersections.

Start with Standard mode to learn the core mechanics, then tackle Expert mode where diagonal sum constraints are added. A score system that weighs clear time, move count, and hint usage lets you chase a new personal best every round. Records are saved to browser local storage so no account is needed.
